The reason is I often aren't able to respond to comments for some time and the unanswered comment can scare people who come to this post for help on something else
Also even when answered the comment may scare them because they see it first.
It works much better to put comments on other topics on a special post for them.
It is absolutely fine to digress and go off topic in conversations here - this is specifically about things you want help with that might scare people.
Also, I have heard it said that when these politicans, presidents, prime ministers, EU people, NATO people and military leaders and commanders across the globe are talking how threat of potential conflict is legitimate or how world's or Europe's security situation is worst since World War 2 or Cold War are most of the time either misinformed or are doing "wake up calls" to others to invest more on defense, military, and security or such? Is the statment more or less true?
However, as more and more European politicans, from left, right and center are united in this, could it indicate that Russian military threat in not to distant future to Europe is legitimate?
This whole situation terrifies me. If Ukraine or Europe wouldn't be included in negotiations, it would be like how Hitler started invaiding Czechoslovakia, Munich Agreement was made and Hitler was allowed to keep what was already invaded, but could not do it more and Czechoslovakia was not included in the table and the agreement was useless, since Hitler later on invaded rest of the country. Same could happen here. Ukraine is not included, appeasement is made, then later, Putin invades rest of Ukraine. This is all speculative, but history does seem to repeat itself and we never seem to learn from it.
Anyway, this makes me scared as if they are content what would happen in Ukraine, this could make Putin or his successor potentially later on want to invade other countries or just to have war on them. Moldova could be on his target list, but I fear NATO-country like Poland, Baltics, Finland could be also on his mind. Sure, some say that while Putin is imperialistic madman, he's not stupid enough to try to war with NATO, but then again people said he wouldn't invade Ukraine either and here we are. Also, they have increased their presence in certain places, which could indicate they are planning for something bigger than Ukraine. Some say Russian economy is so bust, they have no resources to use and then some say, Russia could be ready for another war in five years after Ukraine War would end and/or Putin would use basicly all the money on warfare if he could, even if it means cutting everything else to zero (over exaggeration, but yeah) since he would see Russia operating under wartime economy 24/7.
All I'm saying, I fear we are closer to war since Cold War and I'm not entirely confident can this be avoided.
Oh so sorry. I didn't explain properly and will try to write it more clearly.
If Trump and Putin come to an unfair agreement this has no effect on the war. Ukraine will just ignore it.
Europe has vastly more GDP than Russia. It's technologically way ahead of Russia. European countries are only spending a minute fraction of their GDP to support Ukraine.
Trump continues to send the shipments to Ukraine that Biden has already paid for and will keep doing so for months. And Trump also seems to be open to supporting Ukraine militarily in exchange for some arrangement that lets US businesses exploit Ukrainian deposits of Lithium, Titanium etc.
So all that would continue while Trump figures out what to do after his plan worked out in collaboration with Putin is just ignored.
Ukraine is not going to accept any treaty that leaves Ukraine too weak to protect itself from Russia or be protected by others.
As for why Putin invaded Ukraine, he only did it because he thought he could take over all of Ukraine in 10 days. There is no way he would believe that he can have an easy win over NATO indeed the opposite, Russia would lose immediately and he knows it.
I expect you are influenced by Zelensky's claim that Putin might try to invade Poland or Lithuania as soon as this summer.
This is based on a very extraordinary series of "What If"s that can never happen.
In Zelensky's scenario.
1. America withdraws all its troops from Europe. This is not going to happen and Zelensky agrees.
2. NATO disintegrates. Not going to happen. NATO is getting far stronger. I explained that in a previous blog post. I should add it to the end of this one perhaps.
3. Putin then invades Poland or LIthuania because there is no longer any NATO surviving to stop him.
But Zelensky doesn't believe any of that it's just politics.

No not at all. Even without the US, Europe is far far too powerful for Putin and Russia to attack.

I've just updated my post and added an extra couple of sections:
- No risk of Russia attacking NATO or a world war
- Worst case here is just peace postponed - Ukraine will never accept an inadequate treaty
Also added a contents list and link to the contents list near the start. Hopefully that makes it all clearer.
Would you be willing to update this post again sometime soon? Things are moving so fast.
I plan a new post on Ukraine next.
