The reason is I often aren't able to respond to comments for some time and the unanswered comment can scare people who come to this post for help on something else
Also even when answered the comment may scare them because they see it first.
It works much better to put comments on other topics on a special post for them.
It is absolutely fine to digress and go off topic in conversations here - this is specifically about things you want help with that might scare people.
PLEASE DON’T TELL A SCARED PERSON THAT THE THING THEY ARE SCARED OF IS TRUE WITHOUT A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE OR IF YOU ARE A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE YOURSELF - AND RESPOND WITH CARE
This is not like a typical post on substack. It is specifically to help people who are very scared with voluntary fact checking. Please no politically motivated exaggerations here. And please be careful, be aware of the context.
We have a rule in the Facebook group and it is the same here.
If you are scared and need help it is absolutely fine to comment about anything to do with the topic of the post that scares you.
But if you are not scared or don’t want help with my voluntary fact checking please don’t comment with any scary material.
If you respond to scared people here please be careful with your sources. Don’t tell them that something they are scared of is true without excellent reliable sources, or if you are a reliable source yourself.
It also matters a lot exactly HOW you respond. E.g. if someone is in an area with a potential for earthquakes there’s a big difference between a reply that talks about the largest earthquake that’s possible there even when based on reliable sources, and says nothing about how to protect themselves and the same reply with a summary and link to measures to take to protect yourself in an earthquake.
Thank you for doing all of this to help us riddled with fear get through this, you’re doing a saint’s work :) It helps me so much to calm my anxiety with facts and rationality.
I wanted to ask if you’ve seen anything about the speculation and talk about a potential false flag attack? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
I’ve been quite worried about it. A lot of people say it would probably happen in a blue state/area, which makes this the only time I feel grateful to live in Florida, lol. But it’s still horrifying to hear so many people say it could happen, let alone soon :(
From what I saw, people are speculating that there will be a false flag attack on a US city like New York or LA (By the US government, I guess?) to say it was by Iran so they can declare war, and get Americans to want war on Iran.
People speculate it’ll happen July 1st and that trump will make a spectacle on the 4th about how he’s going to make the 4th Iran’s independence day too, or something crazy like that. Since everything he does is like a stupid TV show.
I know it’s probably (or at least hopefully) just a conspiracy theory, but I can’t help but worry given how unhinged things are these days and I don’t know if I should put anything past the current administration, I’m terrified that they (and many other governments such as Isreal) are trying to manufacture a rapture or something since they’re all insane. 😔
Oh that sounds like another conspiracy theory. Think - if there was evidence for it then this would be leaked to the NY Times or Washington Post or Associated Press. There would be a huge scandal and likely lead to impeaching Trump.
It is not the sort of thing you'd hear first in social media posts / comments.
No they are not insane. And Trump most definitely would NOT believe that he has some religious duty to start a world war! It is very much the opposite. He promised not to start any wars during his presidency. With the Iran mission he is presenting it as "peace through strength" as a way to end the conflict. That is how he is working to get his base behind him.
Indeed though I've come across it, amongst rapture believers also the idea of starting a war to try to trigger it is a bizarre minority of a minority belief, I don't think many can have it as it seems very un Christian.
If there ever was such a plan almost all Christians or others who hear of it would warn the press under whistleblower protection.
Trump is not a rapture believer. Mike Pompeo was. Probably you will find some in the current administration that are but it doesn't drive policy.
I have tried to find evidence of any previous president or vice president who believed in the rapture and found no mention.
Trump's faith is the Prosperity Gospel. A rather unusual branch of Christianity which claims that people who are very wealthy like billionaires have been singled out by Jesus and were rewarded with wealth for spiritual reasons.
You can see why it would appeal to a billionaire though there is nothing in the Bible to support it indeed it's the other way around that the Bible says that the Christian path would be harder for wealthy people except that with Jesus everything is possible.
I talk about his beliefs here:
BLOG: Why Trump can't be an antichrist
— impossible in modern world
— belongs to prosperity gospel
— unusually sees wealth as a sign of God's approval
— celebrity status is NOT the same as religious worship
None of the recent US presidents seem to have had rapture beliefs. If you go down to the detailed accounts for each president none of them seem very likely.
Rapture believers are a small minority only 1 in 20 perhaps of all Christians and they are a minority of Christians even in the US which is the main place they are found though they would be the majority in some Bible Belt states.
That is by my own attempt to calculate based on the number of believers of branches of Christianity that have rapture beliefs. I made it 29.6% of the US population of 328.24 million that belong to denominations associated with rapture beliefs. Some of those wouldn't be rapture believers and in the US a fair number in other denominations do believe even some Catholics. So at a rough guess probably less than a third of US Christians. Other ways of estimating it got far less than that.
But of those number surely only a tiny fraction would have that rather un Christian belief that they should try to start a world war to trigger it.
I doubt if anyone has tried to ask that in a poll question but if they did surely almost everyone would say no.
I can't find a specific poll asking Americans if they believe in the rapture.
Then to want to actually start a war represents a very extreme rapture belief.
It's a minority within a minority within a minority.
Only some Christians believe in the rapture, 1 in 20 globally, minority in the US.
Within that minority some believe it in a specific form where a third world war happens and despite this not happening before WW1 or WW2 they believe that just before WW3 that Jesus will appear in the sky and a billion Christians float up to heaven without dying first, with a variation on that belief where they just disappear and reappear in heaven without dying leaving just their clothes behind.
Within that minority a very few believe they should try to cause a world war. This seems very unchristian and I don't know how many believe that.
They would then have to motivate spies, generals, soldiers or whoever to follow their orders and to do that without anyone leaking the plans to the press.
The US has whistleblower protection. Almost anyone who is Christian apart from that very bizarre minority would be very opposed to any such plan and would immediately leak it to the press.
So you can be sure that nobody will be able to do this.

I haven't no. If it isn't in the mainstream news ignore it as such things go around all the time based on nothing. False flag by who and why?
